How can I Generate an SBI ATM pin (Green Pin Generation) by SMS?
State Bank of India’s Green PIN Service (a Paperless Debit Card /ATM PIN generation option) can be used for ATM PIN generation. SBI Green PIN service helps its Customers generate their PIN (ATM / Debit Card) through SMS, ATM, IVR, Internet Banking etc.

Follow below simple steps below for the SBI ATM Card pin generation by SMS
You need the following details to generate an ATM PIN by SMS.
- The last 4 digits of your SBI ATM card Number
- The last 4 digits of your SBI Account Number
- Your SBI Account linked (registered) Mobile number. It should have the main balance to send the SMS.
If you have all the above details, then follow the below steps:
- Send an SMS to 567676 from your SBI Registered (Account Number linked) Mobile Number in the below Format to generate a Green Pin.
Eg: PIN 7891 1234
- Replace xxxx with the last four digits of your SBI Debit card Number. See the marked area in the below image.
- Replace yyyy with the last four digits of your SBI Bank Account Number. You can find your bank account in your passbook.
Where ‘7891’ is the last four digits of the Debit Card Number and ‘1234’ is the last four digits of the SBI Account No.
ATM Pin through SMS sample message
- Now you will get an OTP (One Time Password) temporary ATM PIN (It is called the Green PIN). You can use this OTP to generate a new ATM PIN from any nearest SBI ATM Counter (Select Banking > PIN Change) within the next 48 hours.
- After getting the temporary ATM PIN on your Mobile, Go to any nearest SBI ATM
- Insert Your ATM Card
- Select your Language and then enter the temporary ATM PIN received on your Mobile.
- After successfully entering your PIN, select the ‘Pin Change’ option from the screen.
- Now you can enter your new ATM PIN.
Please note that the OTP (temporary ATM PIN or Green PIN) will be valid only for 48 Hours (2 Days).
Note: If you cannot go to the ATM before 48 hours, after getting the temporary ATM PIN, you will have to do the above process again (Send the same SMS).
SBI Registered Mobile Number Required for the PIN Generation
You can register the Mobile Number with your Account first time using any State Bank ATM.
If your SBI account number linked Mobile Number is not with you right now, you can change your registered Mobile Number Online if you have active Internet banking facilities.

To generate a Debit card PIN through a Call, you the need following details:
- SBI registered Mobile Number sim active Phone to call the Customer Care
- Your 16 or 19-digit SBI Debit/ATM Card Number
- Your State Bank of India Bank Account Number
Once the above details are ready, Follow below steps:
- Call from your account linked (Registered Mobile Number) to 1800 112211 or 1800 425 3800
- Enter your 16 digit Debit Card Number when prompted
- Then Enter your Bank Account Number
- Now you will get an OTP (One Time Password) as an SMS
- You can use this OTP to generate a new ATM (Debit Card) PIN at any SBI ATM.

After generating the Pin using any of the above-listed green Pin methods,
you need to visit any nearest State Bank ATM, with the OTP (One Time Password) received in your registered Mobile Number, to complete the ATM /Debit Card PIN Generation process.
Follow the below steps to Complete the ATM PIN creation using the Green PIN.
- Visit any nearest State Bank ATM and Insert your ATM Card
- Now choose ‘Banking’ and select your language from the available list of languages (You can Select Hindi, English or any other available language).
- Now you will be asked to enter the PIN, You can enter the OTP or Green PIN received in your Mobile
- Select the ‘Pin Change’ option from the ‘Select Transaction’ Menu.
- You can enter your new 4-digit PIN of your choice now. Re-enter it and confirm.
- Your ATM PIN is generated successfully.

How to get OTP and generate ATM PIN online:
- Log on to SBI Online Net Banking (https://www.onlinesbi.com) using your SBI Login User Name and Password.
- Click on Click on ‘e-Services‘ (top Menu) and Then click on ‘ATM Card Services‘
- Click on ‘ATM Pin Generation’
- Now choose your option to validate (Using One Time Password (OTP), Using Profile Password).
- Enter the OTP received in your Mobile if you have selected the first method.
- Select the Account Number and click on ‘Continue’
- Select the card that you wish to change the PIN and click on ‘Submit’
- Enter the first two digits of the new PIN and click ‘Submit‘. The last two digits of the PIN will be sent to you through SMS on your registered Mobile Number.
These 4 digits will be your new ATM PIN.

With the Green PIN service, SBI ATM PIN Change is very easy, as you don’t have to go to the Bank (State Bank Of India) and wait in the queue to generate the SBI card PIN. It saves a lot of time and money.
State Bank Of India, usually sends the SBI Card PIN through the PIN mailer (by Post) after you have applied for a new Bank Account or ATM PIN change request. The problem with the PIN mailer is that it may take around 10 to 14 days to deliver and it will deliver only to your State Bank Of India registered address.

Follow below Steps to Generate SBI ATM (Debit Card) PIN through SMS: Step 1: Send an SMS to 567676 from your Registered Mobile Number in the below Format. PIN xxxx yyyy.
