Google released a new Safety App ‘Trusted Contacts‘ which lets you share your location with your trusted contacts even offline in case of emergency. You can easily connect with your Parents, Siblings, Close friends or Relatives in an emergency situations like earthquake or any other natural disasters.

When a family Member or a close friend asks for your location, your location will be shared automatically with your trusted contacts, if you don’t respond with in 5 minutes.
This location share will work even if you are Offline or you Phone is out of battery.
When any trusted contact request your location, you receive the request as a Phone Call. You can deny the call if you don’t need the help or you are safe. When you share, Your trusted contacts can see your phone’s activity status to quickly know you’re OK.
This app can be used as a virtual companion. You can share your location with your Parents or Close friends when you travel alone so thay can check your location and see whether you reached the destination on time.
You can stop the location share at anytime.
Trusted Contacts App is an alternative to Facebook’s ‘Safety Check‘ feature in emergencies, but with more options.
A word of Caution :
Although Google’s ‘Trusted Contacts‘ app will work as a safety App, It can be misused to know more details about your whereabouts if you leave the App running in the background. So be careful when you select your Trusted Contacts.
