WhatsApp Profile Privacy

For many of us, WhatsApp is much more than just a messaging service. It has evolved into the modern style of living one’s life. Through the application we mark our presence in many communities and groups. People are now much more connected and bound to each other than ever before.

As technology advances, the advantages on one hand continue to grow, but the downsides on the other continue to worsen and become more severe.
These days, it is difficult for us to retain our privacy because we may be under the observation of others.

WhatsApp, the instant messaging service owned by Meta, has been experimenting with a number of new features in recent weeks. WhatsApp has developed many features that make sure that the user’s privacy is safe.

Updates to the cross-platform messaging app are frequently released in order to improve the user experience. The latest development of the application brings out a new feature, where the user could write their name as an invisible text.

The Meta owned messaging application insists the users to add their name. Thus, anyone with the number can find out the user’s name or can find out the number from a group with the help of the name given.

Despite the fact that you cannot skip the step of adding your name, you can use this approach to either hide it or leave it blank for privacy reasons.

How to Make your name invisible on WhatsApp?

You can use a simple method to hide your name or leave it blank to maintain anonymity. You can now not only send invisible text, but also hide your name in it to secure your identity.

To hide your WhatsApp Name, follow the below steps:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your Mobile Phone or Computer (To access WhatsApp on your PC, navigate to web.whatsapp.com.).
  2. ‘⇨ ຸ’ (ຸ), Copy these symbols (You can copy it from here).
  3. By tapping the three dots in the top right corner, you can access the Settings menu.

4. Select the current WhatsApp name.

5. Tap on the ‘Pencil’ icon.

6. Paste  ⇨ ຸ  in place of the name.

7. Remove the ‘⇨’ symbol so that only the ຸ symbol remains.

Now your name will be gone and that place remains invisible. The ‘ ຸ’ on itself will be invisible in WhatsApp, that why you are advised to copy ‘⇨’ symbol along with it. This will help you to see where the ‘ ຸ’ symbol is.

With this your name won’t be visible to anyone else, unless they have it in their contact list.

In the case of a WhatsApp group, your name will not be displayed until you have been added as a contact by another group member.
