In this post find How to Convert Galvanometer into Ammeter,Voltmeter & Ohmmeter.

What is Galvanometer

An instrument that is able to detect and measure the flow of electricity is known as a galvanometer.

Galvanometers from earlier times were not calibrated. On the other hand, with upgraded versions of the instrument known as ammeters, the current can be calibrated, and the measurement of the current can be made with greater precision.

In order for the galvanometer to function, a pointer is deflected in response to an electric current that is moving through a coil while it is situated in a magnetic field that is held constant.

Galvanometers are a type of actuator that should be considered.

How to convert Galvanometer into ammeter ?

To transform a galvanometer into an ammeter, simply connect a small resistor, also known as a shunt, in parallel to the instrument.

R A = G r s / G + r s is the formula for calculating the ammeter’s resistance.

How to convert galvanometer into voltmeter ?

To transform a galvanometer into a voltmeter, simply join a range of high resistance labelled “R.”

Resistance of voltmeter, RV = G + R
